We are Blackthorn Ritualistic Folk, Herefordshire’s innovative dark performance group who bring to life folklore & dark history via dance, song, music, customs & ceremonies.

Our mixed side of members come from the surrounding areas of this mysterious borderland, which is home to superior ciders, excellent hops and the spiritual presence of the folklorist, Ella Mary Leather.

We dance a mixture of Border, Molly, Irish, Rapper Sword and Fire dances.

Birthed beneath the bright hunter’s moon on October 13th 2019, Blackthorn gathers to celebrate the Earth Cycle through the eight points of the Wheel of the Year at sacred, historical & rural sites.
